is it possible to convert the power windows, cruise control,climate control and LCD dash, from a 89 fairlane into a series 2 EB without to much drama

well, as far as i know, to install climate control, you'll need to change the heaterbox for the one out of the fairlane, as the climate heater box has elec motors that change the flappies instead of the cables and vac solenoids that the stock one uses. To do that, its dash out. Not a fun job. there would also be a wiring loom involved.
The pin-outs on the Digital dash cluster are also different, so you will need to cut and join wires for it to work. Also, im not sure, but i know in the later ones, for the LCD pic of the car that shows which door is open, you need to put door switches out of the fairlane into the EB and the related wiring looms also.
Electric windows are fairly straight forward. swap the regs over, swap the console for the one with the switches, and install the related wiring and relays.

Personally, i'd attempt the elect windows first. if you can handle that, you should be able to tackle the rest.
However, none of it is a 5 min job, they'll all take hours of dedication to acheive the desired result.

Good luck with the upgrades!

Cheers
David

You might as well just transplant the whole dash, seeing as you need them both out anyway. If you do tho;

You will have smartlock issues with the BEM that you'll need to work around.

Power windows are not a problem.

The NA has a different cruise set up to the EBII, but again, if you just use all the NA hardware it should not be a problem.

You may find it easier to just source a series II fairmont and canabilise that. No issues with smartlock if you use the BEM and ignition barrel from the donor car. the dash loom will be set and ready to go if you do it this way. And the black items in the EBII onwards look heaps nicer than the silver ones.

The EA Cruise has the module under the dash, the EB2 has the module under the console, all the parts in the engine bay are the same.

It will make a difference only because of the location of any looms.

As previously stated, I would just put the whole NA dash (inc dashboard, loom, hardware) and air box into the EB.

It'll all the plug and play then........

Also, I am assuming that the column loom on the NA's is the same as the EBII?? (Apart from the ign barrel, all the rest of the hardware is the same).
