Hey guys,

i am in the process of moding my dash.

i need to remove the orange filter from behind the climate control LCD, does anyone know how to do this?

it looks the be soldered on!

i think by memory you have to pull the whole thing apart.

ah thats a prick of a job. to get it out u have to take the climate control apart. then the LCD screen is held in on the pcb board by soldered pins which go up the screen. the filter cannot come out unless u unsolder these pins. then the screen slips out then the filter will then be able to be removed.

Im no good at soldering, so when i did mine i took it all apart and took it to a tv elec to get him to unsolder it, and resolder it back up once i cut the new filter out.

cost me $30. but if ur good at soldering theres no reason u cant do it urself.

that does sound like a tough job. i might just make it red for now and see how it goes.

i will post pics when i get it all up and running, i hope by the end of the week!
