After 10 years, you gotta go in and ofcourse get it checked out right. Well nearly every single place you go to say that they have to replace the air bag. Mate Lovin the interior. f**k awesome. Is that red a chameleon colour or wat?? Looks awesome mate.

With the air bags - My air bag had smoke comming from it the other week.. so i doubt shes gunna work. Was funny... was drivin down the hwy. Then out of nowhere.. all this smoke from the stop of the wheel..

Yea, I was certainly not detracting from your work, you've done a great job, it's just not my thing. IMO the worst thing about repainting your dash is getting all the little buttons to be the right colour!

Yes did think about that thought it would be too much if you look close the stereo surround is red but photo doesnt show it real good.I have also done the dash vents red surrounds with silver vents and the lh dash insert where the gli badge goes i covered in camielian vinyl and made a badge out of gold mirror perspex. The paint I used was a trial for me I wanted a candy look and while dt super cheap one day I discovered a tin of metal colour it is supposed to be like annodised but any more than one coat it starts to look candy so I washed the whole lot with a scouring pad and soap then cleaned with plastic anti static cleaner {like prepsol but for plastic}then plastic primer layed down a silver base then coats of the red until I had the colour I wanted then clear coat the whole lot It was all done with spray cans septone for the silver & clear but the primer & cleaner were cam products avail from any good paint supplier the trick is good prep and it will last forever if you dont prep properly it will fall off in no time

care to prove the 10 year life expectincy of the air bags?

I cant remember the article I was reading but I called the guy I use to do all my air bags and he advised this is true mainly for the older cars as the charge cylinders only last for so long and some of the early modules used corrode internal unfortunatly we live in a disposable world I am sure if you google airbags as I did when I first read about this {it was in a bodyshop mag online}you find heaps of articles relating to it.This would explain 4DIZLR driving down the road and smoke coming from his wheel it would have been the charge cyl releasing it gas

That looks unreal buddy. Love it. Top marks.
As said, there are some disqusting interior jobs out there (the EF with the bright green dash comes to mind) but that has been done really well.

Looks unreal man. Good to see something different done to an interior, rather than putting an EL ghia interior in or something..

Nice work.

I suppose you wouldnt care about the air bag. Most of the eastern states guys would because it means RWC. As for me i would rather have a 11 year old airbag there that has a chance of working if a crash then have no airbag there and have a steering wheel scar on my face. But hey man im not saying its s**t or anything like that.

It looks really really good and has alot of care taken to do it right.

Each to thier own.......but I hate that sort of s**t. In my opinion you have totally screwed your car. in twelve months when the paint starts to crack and get scratches in it, it will look even worse.

Painting your interior garish colours should be limited to Rice Rockets and VN Commodore owners who seem to have a fetish for yellow and green in thier interiors!!!

Sorry.........
