Hi all,
I recently upgraded my Futura cluster with a Ghia cluster. was working OK. Then it started to loose the odometer when I turned the lights on figured out it seemed to be a loose connection - resoldered the resistor in just in case that was the problem. Now I get the odometer reading 555,555 and o.o. It also beeps at me. Possibly an error code or something. Does any body have ideas. Thanks

hmmm...Ray (snap0964) had this exact problem a few days ago when he swapped over to the Fairlane cluster, only happened after a few days...He's not too sure what the cause was or what it meant...thought possibly some sort of default it switched to...

I attempted the other day to get the Fog/spotlight jewel going, but unfortunately no go. Followed the tech doc to the letter too. Left the diode in but disconnected from the spotties. Cluster still worked fine though.

Yeah that's the thing Dave - worked fine for several days after I'd exchanged eproms.
I've noticed it stays in diagnostic mode for very long times.
Dang mentions something about it in this thread: http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11235 .

Hey guys. FYI, rang our local Ford dealer after reading Dangs thread in the last post, reckon they can't do anything for me. He "thinks" he has the ability to wind the OD forward but not back. Which means no can do from 555,555.........bugger!
Thanks so far for your responses.

I sounds like an eprom failure does it count up but reset back to 555555 the next time?

Not sure, I haven't driven the car with that cluster in since it beeps at me all the time. Damn annoying that. Running with the old cluster in with the oil warning jewel lit due to having an oil sender unit in and not the switch.
