I've had about a half-litre of motor oil soaking into my boot carpet/lining/whatnot for months, now. Been too lazy to bother cleaning it.

Removed the lining (bunch of plugs across the bottom of the back seat). Debating what to clean it with. Basically, figured I'd squirt it with degreaser and hit it with the garden hose.

Any better ideas? It's only the boot carpeting, so I'm not too fussed on how it ends up, cosmetically. It'd be great not to have everything I put in there wind up with a slick of greasy s**t across its bottom, though. :|

you would probably be better off just getting another boot lining from a wreckers. shouldnt cost to much.

I would go ahead with what you are planning, after all it is only the boot. Then consider replacing it in the future.
