are the SWB and LWB (EF-EL) rear seat belts interchangable? i can't think of a reason why not, but then again the rear seats arn't 100% the same either :?

yeah you definatly need new seat belts. just read the warning label. you will need to replace if you ever need a RWC. Also a good idea if you are ever in a accident. Also i dunno how tough the cops are up there but if they see that you will get a yellow sticker

thats what i wanna know as well! Shouldn't be much for a set of second handy's. Make sure you get EL ones and not the EF type. As the EL ones are colour coded where-as EF seat belts being black

To see if the belts are past their service life, you have to make sure the rubber boot on he bottom is fully over the bottom bolt and strap. Then pull it up tight.

If the red marker is still showing above the rubber boot, then its time to replace the belt.

If thats the case, it should not have passed a roadworthy. Typically, if that red marker is showing the belts have been loaded up and started ripping the stitching. In almost all cases, this is caused by an accident, and the belts should have been replaced. Its there for your safety, so I'd replace it asap.

And I think almost every EL buckle has broken the plastic like yours. The hardest thing is finding a good condition adjustable grey belt to replace it.
