Mako Grey is the EFs and Luna Mist is the ELs. Almost identical but not quite.

AFAIK, the same grey colour was used throughout the model range which, as Timmeh pointed out is Mako Grey in the EF/NF and Light Luna Mist in the EL/NL. There was the option on the high series vehicles of a light brown interior colour scheme called, on at least one model series, "Cappuccino" but I'm not sure if the same colour was used on both the EF/NF and EL/NL or if they did the same thing with the brown that they did with the grey and made a lighter version for the EL/NL. In any case though, this is what my EF Fairmont looks like with Mako Grey interior:

Scratch that...... reverse it.

Luna Mist is the EF, Mako Grey is a lighter grey in the EL.

I had a feeling that was it, I remember reading "Mako Grey replaces Light Luna Mist" in a old issue of Motor a while back but I didn't mention it because it's been absolutely ages since I've read that particular issue and wasn't 100% if my memory was playing tricks on me or not.

Thats not the way it works.....they are not classed as colour schemes.....for example EL has mako grey (the darker grey) with luna mist highlights (the lighter grey)

EL falcon and high series come in cappaccino, the same as EF high series but I am yet to see an EF falcon with cappaccino, don't think it was an option at that stage

I like to think of it as the luxury option rather than the typical taxi pack. Hence why only LTD and FBT came in cappaccino only.....says something doesn't it

Wrong on the cappucino thing. I have a EF Futura, which has the cappucino interior. The dash/door trims are original, but I have changed the seats for EL leather ones. But the original cloth seats were in cappucino too. I think that it has something to do with the exterior colour. mine is mocha foam.

I always thought the EL grey was lighter than EF grey. But the grey plastics on my EL XR seats are definately darker than me EF grey plastics! But then my chrome door handles came in EL grey plastic and that is lighter than the EL XR grey or EF grey. So basically I've found 3 different shades of greys!

Aaah the cream of the crop 8-)

Just for the record Dave - Cappucino was only available from EF/EL Futuras upwards - that's one of the bonuses of getting a Futura over a Gli - choice of interior colour.

EL/NL Mako Grey is lighter than EF/NF Luna Mist.

EF/NF have Luna Mist

EL/NL have Mako Grey with Luna Mist highlights.

Can someone post some interior pics for poor andrew302w
