dunno about the CC, but in the clock/TC I just cut off two little tabs, and it slid out.

Yeah I managed to get the filter for the clock out no problemo..
 To be honest I didn't think of cutting off a few tabs.. so now I wish I didn't put it all back together haha

I remember being able to pull apart the CC all the way so that the filter was easily accessible. Maybe you need to disassemble it further?

Well the front part of the LCD has pins on it and the pins go through to the back where they are soldered on so I guess I can't do that..
 There is some white plastic on the back that is blocking access to the filter, so maybe if that can be taken off it is possible to get to the filter that way but the way I remember it I don't really know if that can be done so.. 
Might have to have another go tomorrow.. but I want to be sure I can get it off this time

here's my clock
works welll. didnt have any idea how to get into the CC but i took some photos of it.. to see if anyone could think of something?

BUMB~!
Now, How the hell do we get into the CC to get the filter?! anyone know?! i've gone and scratched it now trying to pry it out.. so when its on.. there is a big scratch through the middle.. I suggest not to scratch it

Desolder the fluro pins. Pull the fluro out. The while backing will come away from the fluro which lets you remove the orange filter.
Replace filter and then reverse steps.

Correct, as vic said you will have to desolde rthe entire screen unit from the main board to gain access to the orange filter thru the back part of the screen, its impossible to get to it via the front - many have tried n failed with the result of useless CC units, i do not reccomend it, do it properly i say.

Laximah, desoldering is a very simple process. If you have some soldering skills and a low wattage iron and braid then it will take you about 90 seconds to desolder the fluro pins. I should state that desoldering should be done quickly - never leave the soldering tip on the same track pad for long or longer than necessary - to suck up the solder. If you feel you might not want to risk it yourself then perhaps get a mate who has the skills to do it for you.
