I've used a silicon based spray on the outer plastics before.
Worked a treat.
My cruise buttons were so far gone, I just bought a new wheel with brand newys already in it.
I tips me hat to fordzatmyplace...

So when the baby oil dries out which it will, do it again i guess and still have slippery fingers on the wheel!
Just try the clear silicone and let it dry.

I have a similar problem on my EB, the cruise buttons are faded and white-ish, so is the piece of plastic near the windscreen wipers, along with most of the rubber and plastic exterior trim.

I tried some 'Tyre Black' stuff on the exterior, did not work at all. Even on rubber. Not a thing.

While the cruise control on my EB does not work (possibly dirt contacts or something, I dunno), I'd like to rejuvenate the buttons and exterior trim etc.

I'll try this 'Mother's' stuff, i'll report back on results. I didn't think the cruise buttons could be rescued, I just thought the plastic was worn away by constant use. Oh well....
