my el ghia has an intermitt problem. roughly 1 in 50 starts, the smartlock light will remain on. the car drives fine but i want 2 know what its telling me?

Some problem.

I just added a new smartlock barrel to my EL (in oder to get remote start on my alarm going), and now the smartlock light stays on all the time - hasn't affected anything. I'll end up (when I've next got the cluster out) swapping the smartlock light, for the alarm LED. Then it won't bother me anymore.

when u turn the key on. the barrel sends 3 codes to the BEM. if only 2 of them are right, the car will start however the light will display

I retrained the BEM to recognise the new barrel (takes an HOUR!) and it works fine. At startup the smartlock light flashes a few times, then goes on solid.

Also the alarm won't kill the engine til you're out and lock the doors, a strange sensation, the keys in hand engine still going (I tell the ricers I got a 'ful sik' turbo timer)
