Does anyone know where I can find what the error codes represent for an EL high series BEM, I did a search and drew a blank. My workshop manual says "see below" but the only thing below that was my breakfast cereal and nothing mentioned on the next page. Mine is flashing 6 6 6 then stays on steady, it goes out if I turn the car off and on again but returns next time I start it.

Your workshop manual isn't a ford one I take it ???

The codes are same for EF/EL & XH - I'm at work so I don't have access to my manuals, but I will have a look later today if no one replies before then.
IIRC the codes are single digit and are priority based, so the explanation for code 6 is what you're after, provided there are no other faults when this one is fixed.

No probs.
One thing I do remember is that it is a low priority fault, since your car will start - IIRC codes 1, 2 & 3 will disable the car.
Obviously it's a constant fault, since the self test on startup doesn't clear it.
Not much help but good luck for now.

It does help BOB, I will pull it out and take another look, perhaps I have a solder dag where I replaced the resistor.
Cheers.

All fixed, thanks all. A solder bridge when installing the new resistor. Guess who needs glasses.

snap0964 can you post the codes so someone can update the Smartlock Documentation with them for future reference, it mentions there are codes (just like the Gregories) but does not give them.

Yeah just read this from home, as per what Bob said. - couldn't really suggest anything else since you were replacing that resistor for the aerial thought it might be related.

As for the codes, was thinking the same thing earlier today - I've had an amendment in for 3 months about the EF smartlock doco (wire idents), might need to beat Greg with a stick.

For the meantime, I'll add them to my XH BEM doco (in my sig block) - this doco was supposed to be posted months ago as well.
