When installing a Smart Lock Bypass module, do you still need to leave the ignition in the on position for half an hour before the car will be able to start in order for the ECU to learn the codes?

No. Mine started without doing that. There is no mention of needing to do so in the instructions either.

na mate the bypass module bypasses everything..the learning part is in the bcm(smartlock module)
so its just connect it up and away you go..

cheers. i must have had it on the wrong wire on the BEM (had it on the ECU side of the wire). moved it to the wire on the ECU and presto. Anyways, it helped me diagnose my problem, all fixed now.
