hey guys. not sure if this is the right section for this question but anyway what causes the smartlock light to start flashing or stay on when the car is started and running?

Faults with the smartlock module or wiring will cause that.

It should flash a sequence, that translates into a error code, you can look up & see what it thinks is causing the problem.
