hey all
im just about finished my custom dash and as i had the all out my brother moved my speedo needle. Does anyone know how to calibrate it properly? Is the needle ment to be on 0 when the car is off?? any help is appreciated thanks wobbo

blame it on the brother hey. haha
I dunno if its the same thing as the EA-EDs but when i changed to white dials, i accidently moved the speedo needle and it returned back to its original positon. THe needle has always sat just under 0 when the car is turned off. ANd yes the car is reading the correct speed after i touched the needle. |

maybe take a stab at where it should be, then use the clusters digital readout (i think XH have it?) to see how close it is..

EF/ELs have the tach and speedo needles sitting right on 0 when off. The other gauges, point at the red lights. I'll see if I can scrounge up a photo.

Like these, note the temp gauge is FAR to low - my fault, I couldn' resist giving it a flick.

yeah i was drivin with a mate last night and i was on about 130 and he said he was about 145 and we were neck and neck so i think its about 15k's out but thanks guys ill fix it today.
gaz how do i use the clusters digital readout? and what is it??

i think the XH's have the ability? they are the same as ef/el yeh?
from memory its with the key in the off position, hold the odometer reset for 10 seconds, then while holding it in, turn the ignition to on (dont start car) once in the on position, press the odometer reset button 3 times and on the 3rd time hold it in, till the seatbelt logo disappears from the dash.. 5-10 seconds? then release the button, the screen the blank out for about 10 seconds, then a ford logo will flash, use the odometer reset button to change views.. mode 3? is engine speed/rpm.. have fun
