G'day all, just after a bit of advice. I was on the freeway on the weekend in my 96 Fairlane Ghia and noticed the steering wheel started to shake quite a bit at about 100km/h. Once I slowed down to about 90km/h and then went back up to about 105km/h it was fine. Would this just be wheel alignment?

Steering wheel shake could be indicative of several things.

The most obvious is wheel balance, followed by wheel alignment. In some instances loose wheel bearings can cause s/wheel wobble, but usually while braking.

Worst case is worn bushes, balljoints or tie rod ends and possibly even steering rack.

I would start with getting the wheels balanced first.

After the wheel bearings check the bushes and ball joints with a pry bar for any movement.

I had a similar problem to this recently, turned out it was bearings and they collapsed which meant I also needed new rotors pads and (I'm having a massive mind blank) the axle the bearings sit on had to be replaced on both sides costing about $650 in the end.
My advice get it checked asap

Perhaps wheel bearings and / or bushes.
I'd only worry about rotors if the steering shuddered under braking.
