Quote:
BA 15A417 C WIRING ASSY, WIRING HARNESS, SENSOR, FAIRMONT/FUTURA/GHIA/XR/XT, ' $95.80

found this on the ford parts database... i would expect them to cost mor than this tho...

and have also found some factory Ghia driving lights on ebay... just wondering what else would be needed to install these(button , wiring harness etc.)

also wondering if the black gloss dash facia (bf MK2 Ghia) will fit on her dash ...?

BA mk2 gloss icc cover will fit
however she wont have colour screen unless it was optioned

The Rear parking sensors need a module also
about a 3-400 dollar kit from Ford
FTG auto Salvage may be able to help you

So what about the bits for the Fairmont lights.
If a loom is sourced from a wrecker,
how hard is it to find wires to hook onto & do any computers spin out due to adding these lights.

also for the BA falcon owners with parking sensors how is the distance displayed? is it an external thing or built in to the display above to cd player... and no it doesn't have the colour screen EDIT - found out its only audible

Fairmont Lights? Do you mean the driving lights? Or do you mean the bootlid trim with number plate lights and extra reflectors? On my BA XR8, I originally changed from a Blueprint bootlid strip to a Chrome Strip, and hen later changed it again to a Fairmont Ghia. As for driving lights, the XR's already have them. And I believe the Fairmont has 'turning' lights rather than driving lights. There have been a few discussions about that.

Reverse Sensors. I'm about to do this myself. There are 3 x types of module -
(1) a Blue Connector Factory Supplied module for High Series cars that plays the beeping noise through the Stereo speakers.
(2) A yellow Connector Factory Supplied Module for anything other than high series cars that has it's own speaker (it sits on the passenger side of the parcel shelve)
(3) A grey dealer-fit Module that does much the same as (2), but has a separate harness.

Remember that there's a Harness between the sensors. There's also another mini harness that connects between the body and the sensor harness. This has two options as well.
(1) Direct from Body Loom to Sensor Loom or
(2) From Body Loom to Sensor Loom and to the Towbar Connector. This solution has a magnetic sensor in the towbar connector that disables the parking sensors whenever a trailer is fitted.

I'd suggest two options:
(1) Go to Ford and get a Reverse Parking Sensor kit. It's the Dealer Fit option. This will come with everything you need. OR
(2) Speak to a reputable auto wreckers - FTG always have a heap of all types of module. I'm in the process of buying all the bits I need for a High Series car now. There may also be a need to enable this in the ICC (The Stereo).

You know, there are a few other differences between a Fairmont and a Fairmont Ghia. Like the Ghia is the only SWB module to have Memory Mirrors like the Fairlanes, which are triggered by the buttons and the keyfobs like the seat memory positions. I'm not sure if the Fairmont has Memory seats though does it?
