Hey guys as some of you might know im in the process of fitting an EL dash into my ED, now tonight we hooked up the battery and some of lights arent working right on the dash, the cluster lights are coming on but the trip, climate and cluster lcd/odo arent coming on, the trip ones appears to be on but only just, any ideas???

Gidday.

What BEM are you using. You need to have a Green Fairmont BEM for the LCD dimming function, or as described in the tech doco add a resistor to the cluster.

You really need to describe a bit more detail regarding the parts you are using for your conversion.

What dash wiring harness are you using? EB? EL? BEM type and model?

hey Im using EL ghia dash with EL ghia wiring harness, I have the green BCM, although I had a thought, does it matter what kind of headlight switch is in the dash?? Im not sure what model its from, if its a base model switch will the dimming function work? Ive tried flipping the dimmer but its not working?

Re the headlight switch, you need the Fairmont one, it has a green plug on it.

How did this ever work out? Was often interested about putting an EF/EL cluster in my ED fit good? wire simple? Looks good?

Simple? No. Looks good? Yes

Read the following guide I wrote up to get an idea of whats involved.

And if you want a Fairlane cluster, it is more complicated again.

Hey mate ive got the full EL dash to go with the cluster ;)
