The heat in my car is not super hot, ever. How do you know its the blend door motor or something else?

Where abouts is the blend door motor exactly on a ED? (passenger/driver side)
What does it look like and how would you know you got a working one from the wreckers or can you buy them new from Ford?

The heat in the car at the moment is 50~50 warm. If its freezing outside or better still when on the highway doing 110km/hr after 1 hour on 32 and the fan on high, instead of being in a sauna you are just warm if not cold still.

do the self test first cause it calibrates the blend door and if theres a fault it will tell u. its under technical documents. documents.php?d=9

better than ripping the dash apart and finding out its something else like the heater tap.

You would be surprised the amount of leaves and rubish that accumulate inside the heater box, if you ever have the dash out, remove the fan resistor assembly and fan and give it a good clean out.

Yeah first check and / or replace the heater tap. If you have climate control in your car more than likely the flap in the heater box is broken. Either way the dash and air con lines have to be removed to fix it. I did it recently cost me a small fortune. If the blend motor is gone E2 will come up on the self test.

The first thing I would do is check the thermostat see if it is stuck open.
Then check the heater tap under the intake manifold if it is working fully open
Also check the water supply some of the connectors are common to block restricting water flow.
If that fails check the heater operations.

something so small and something that can fail should have been left somewere accessable
is there a way to gain access to the blend air and have it open for winter and closed for summer or vice versa ??
