Hey all, I was wondering if it is possible to wind back and EF XR8 digital odometer to 0 Kilometres.......because I am putting in a brand new engine, transmission, tail shaft and diff, as if it will be a whole new car, does any one know how, or know if it is even possible..

thank you....

I suspect this activity is not legal so if you are questioned about the K's after its done then you will want a better excuse than all the running gear is new.

thats a good point, i think the k's should reflect the age of the oldest part of the car, not just the engine/mechanical workings, otherwise if it was re-sold you could potentially be in some trouble.
And even if you never plan to resell it, is it really that big a deal to have an odo that reads its original ammount?

pft, if this isnt legal (which it probably isnt) than swapping dashes should also be illegal which is ridiculus.
are you selling the car or somthing? even if u do wind it back there will be recorded km's on the car from the last set of transfer papers when you bought it

And cheap wine comes in 5 litres :P

I am pretty sure that you can swap the clusters if yours is faulty, and there may be a difference in the odometer readings but you cannot alter the reading of a cluster.

Just my 2c

i admit iput a new cluster in my car, coz i f**k mine 100,00km less, but i have no intentions to sell my car, not worth it, toomuch hassling and i dont know if WA have yearly inspections or not, but if they do the transport mob will find out and think something suss is going on for sure

but who cares what an odo says if thats the case. y not just leave it at whatever it is and tell the new owner that the engine/trans/diff has only done 100kms.
