Hey all,

Are there any differences in the colour and texture of the woodgrain inserts between EF-NF-DF and EL-NL-DL models? I have a horrible feeling that EF have a darker colour and rougher looking texture to the EL woodgrain inserts.

This is the problem i am having, the part in the two pictures below is exactly the same and has different colours because of lighting conditions! And i can't seem to be able to match it up to my woodgrain from my EL.

This is what i have on my door trims (from an EL Ghia):

Can anyone help me out by confirming if they are different or not?

Cheers for your help

just be careful because I'm not sure if the woodgrain is actually wood...I believe it's plastic. By the way I have EL fairmont ghia wood and its the darker brown colour. EF had the lighter more yellowey wood.

Thanks for the replies guys, you just confirmed my suspicions. Oh well, there'll be wrecked NL Fairlanes in the future...hopefully!

The woodgrain certainly isn't made of wood! HAHAHAHA! Man, i don't even think Jaguar has real woodgrain in their cars, let alone a lowly Fairmont or Fairlane

The door woodgrain in the EA-ED equivalent fairlanes/LTD's are certainly genuine wood.

Yep, EA-ED definitely wood, but EF/EL plastic - extremely difficult to tell IMO until you actually remove it!
