yeah i have done, looked everywhere for this symbol couldnt find it anywhere in my gregorys manual or watever they are called, and because i didnt no wat the f**k it was i didnt no what area to look in so i thought id try here, and now problem is sorted.

For this sort of thing, you need a owners manual not a workshop manual. The type that Ford provide with the car from new.

It owners manual even tells you how to program remotes into your car but people still ask here.

A lot of second-hand cars don't have the book when you buy them. And for what they are, they are relatively expensive from Ford for $25.

Cheaper and easier to just ask the question.

Christ, I was glad I found this thread the other day...I put an EA Spac cluster in my XF and although the battery/charging system is in top shape, that light kept coming on. pulled the dash and wired the volt guage to another 12V source from the original cluster- still on, wired the volt guage to where it goes on an Eseries (between hazard switch and fuse box)- still on...thought f**k it, it`s coming out, I`ll know if there`s a problem if the car don`t start...turned out I could pull it anyway...stupid friggin thing. hard enuff getting the dash in and out without breaking the trip reset off time and again...made me feel just a bit stupid too...well it looked like an alternator light or something to me...

Its your coolant. My mums NF Fairlane had that light coming on and off for a while. Turns out that the float sensor in the coolent resivoir had worn out a bit.

You two need to keep in mind that not everybody has the owners manual for their car. Most of the time, the original owner tends to keep them, to hide the fact that the car may have been neglected.

There are 5 cars in my house. An AU, my EF, my EB, a Pulsar, and a VK. We only have the owners manual for one car, which is the VK.
