Can anyone tell if I am able to fit a EF XR6 computer chip into a GLI EF Falcon.The xr6 chip is from a manual and mine is a auto.

the xr ecu will go srait in, but youdd need an auto one.

perfect excuse for a manual conversion :P

and u fit an ef/el ecu into a ed? just wondering.

why?

EF = coil pack ignition, so not unless you are changing to coil pack ignition and feel like a harness change.
EL = tuned for BBM. If you are fitting a BBM and other EL goodies (I don't know if ED's had thermo's or clutch fans?) then it would be worthwhile, however by itself there is no point.

xr6 chip? If referring to the ecu then as has been said you will need to convert to manual or if you have no intention to I would ebay it as these can sell for quite a bit of dosh.

I don't know if your referring to those chips on ebay which mimic xr ecu's, but I don't think so as you say it came off an xr.

ef has a different ecu compared to ed

ef ecu= no as ef had a 100 pin plug..(like au)

el ecu= yes as el has a 60 pin plug like the ea - ed...
