i have put a trip computer in my eb2 wagon, now everything seems to be working great except the distance to empty (dte), when i first installed it the dte was reading 570k's which seemed about right as i had near a full tank, over the next few days it was slowly coming down as expected untill it was showing around 440k's and since then it just hovers around the 440-480k mark no matter what amount of fuel is in the car, even with the fuel light on and the needle in the red it was still showing a dte of 473k's. could this be because of the wagon sender? the trip comp came from a sedan???? I am pretty sure (read 99%) that i have wired it all up correctly.

btw: i put a blue led in the unit when i insalled it and it looks s**t hot, heaps better then i thought it would.

Sounds like an electronics issue.

I guess look at the basics...

DTE is a function of L remaining in tank and L per 100km...

Does the L/100km read 'about right' ? Obviously the fuel sender is sending the dash an acceptable reading...

Maybe a poor connection with the data link... i underatand these are quite susceptible to interference? (i.e. use a shielded line)...
