Looking at replacing existing setup - Sprint gas hat and OMVL converter way to restrictive with an Impco 425 mixer and converter, will the 425 flow enough for a mild 351 and are there any tricks. Cheers :D

use a 450 base. same throttle plate size as a 600, but is a mechanical secondary.

Although a properly set-up Sprint gas New Gen mixer will out flow a 425.

The OMVL R90E converter could do with a little extra first stage pressure when used with a warm clevo, and you'd probably need to use both vapour outlets on it.

The biggest problem though is most people will pull the Newgen mixer out of the box and just bolt it on.
5mins reading the box and paper work will show that they are set at the factory for use on a 3L engine.
The air gap is adjustable and needs to be set according to what engine it used on.
It also needs to have the vapour inlet at the front of the carby, NOT to the side.
To a more even mixture distribution it also helps to block off about 4cm of the gas ports right infront of the vapour inlet and directly across from it. This serves to force the gas further around the mixer and stop leaning of the secondary side of the carby.

big thing with 425 is remove the resrtictor plate out of the vapor inlet side of the mixer, this can hinder larger/mild engines... it looks like a washer jammed in there just remove it before u intall.

The system is good, performs well as you would expect. Its fitted to a SWB ford maverick not sure what MPG I should expect from 95L usable, any thoughts.
