Ride: Falcon BA XT dedicated gas

Location: Hoppers Crossing
VIC, Australia

hey guys,

Just stopped over at the servo to fill up my BA XT dedicated gas and it won't take fuel.

Are there range of possible issues? I note that the day was very hot, 35+C. Could this be the cause or is the intake valve the problem?

Thanks.

Probably the heat.

Ive never had this happen to me personally but it has happened to the GF on occasion.

I saw this problem on another post, can't remember where. heat was the cause. once your tank gets past a certain temperature, the pressure in the tank overcomes the pressure in the supply hose and the lpg cannot be pumped in. any method to cool the tank will solve the problem unless there are other issues. Parking in some shade comes to mind. car wash? If you have a ute, no problem at all. Hose the tank down to cool it

The tank was almost empty. I would have thought that an empty tank would have less pressure than the supply.

Anyway, thanks for your thoughts. I'll try to fill it up when the temperature cools down.

Cheers.

No inspections since I bought the car.

It was the heat. I eventually filled up when the heat decreased.

Thanks for your concern.

My Best mate had this issue the other day in his recently installed ED falcon.

Solution was a wet rag to cool down the tank & pouring water over the fitting where you fill the lpg, to cool it down as well, as it was stinking hot. Once the tank temp dropped & the fill point was cool enough the tank started to fill up, very slowly.

Cheers

Have had this happen as well.

Best thing to do in Summer ... fill early morning before it gets warm.

The other way to fix it permanently ... and this is from BlownBA in Vic ... get the tank purged properly using vacuum. He has done many ... and in all instances never had the issue with filling in high temps again.

It is to do with the difference in internal tank pressures from the tank in the car ... to the tank(s) at the servo.

You'll most likely find that servos with the underground tanks will have more issues as they are cooler and pressure will differ greatly. Even so though ... I have had issues with the odd BP with an aboveground tank as well.

I just make sure i fill when the temp is cool and I have no issues.
