Hey Garthr,
Just a quick suggestion with that setup on the hilux take it for a warm up run then see if you can lean out the mixture a bit on the carb. the downside of this (I think) is the it will be running a little lean at startup until you Hydro cell comes on line but it should make a difference while doing distance work.
Have fun

yeah foggy, i will keep it in mind as one of several things i might be able to do. for now i just want to see what difference is with same setup. then things like advance timing to take advantage of higher octane rating of the gas, also would like to put a valve in line to restrict gas flow at idle and open up at higher revs (the opposite of what is happening now) - all depends on how effective my cell is.

Has made some difference though, exhaust has gone really quiet which would indicate the burn is very smooth compared to straight petrol.

Just another couple of quick questions has it made any difference to the running temperature of the car and any idea how many amps this thing is pulling??

Good luck

haven't noticed any real difference in temp, - still just gets to thermostat temp.

i have it running on 6 amps.

cell temp after driving was 52 degrees (ambient of 23 though, overcast)

Yea I've read a few articles on a guy called Stan Meyer from USA who ran cars off tap water, apparently it took huge electricity to extract hydrogen from water, and this guy nutted it out, and got it working, then was found dead in his home :(.

If it was an oil company keeping him quiet, then this place is fked.

ok have got some numbers and it looks promising.
two topups - both city driving/commuting,

after 28.75 km took 2.68 litres - 10.72 kpl or 30.5 mpg
after another 64.7 km took 5.6 litres - 11.55 kpl or 32.85 mpg
both filled at same bowser.

I'm liking this trend.

this is a vehicle that averages 27mpg for this type of driving (29 on ultimate)

i'm using normal unleaded for this testing but there probably was still a fair percentage of ultimate in tank at the start so have to wait for that to get diluted for a more accurate comparison.

topped up again this arv, & better still.

63.85 km took 5.3 litres, - 12.04 kpl, - 34.25 mpg - that is 24.5% increase

Please excuse ingnorance .

Is the gist of this mixing Hydrogen and Petrol ?

If so would a more professional approach be to do a LPG style conversion with the tank to hold Hydrogen gas and the car is setup to mix to the two like injected two strokes ? Or depending on the volume of Hydrogen gas to petrol it may allow removeable canisters like those small camp stoves sold in K-Mart etc ?

The idea behind this is to add both hydrogen and oxygen into the system at the same time while not having to carry tanks of gas which may annoy the rego guys in some states (oh to live in vic with no B***dy inspection each year.
From what I understand this helps in 2 ways.
1 Hydrogen mixing with oxygen going boom
2 any unburnt oxygen left from the unit helps the petrol burn.

Hope this helps

had a minor setback yesterday arvo - got home and checked cell, - no bubbles. Took it apart and found 1 electrode had broken at the connection inside cell.
So i rebuilt it with a different method to attach electrodes.
was just an experiment after all.
But i will keep on with it since results are very promising.

The other question is will it work with LPG? I dont see why not as hydrogen and oxygen will help LPG to burn good too.

yeah will try to post a couple pics up this evening.

i think it should be easier to get improvement with lpg because u have ability to control mixture at will.

if hydrogen works with petrol & diesel then it should be good with lpg.

that's just my theory - have do some research/testing to find out for sure.

that is now 30% improvement!

here are some pics

Hey Garth, nice pix of ya coffee jar, hehehehe. Just wondering if ya can smell the coffee in the exhaust gases? Just kidding, all jokes aside Garth, I think your onto something very very BIG. Looking foward when we can fit one of those badboys onto my excavator and truck. I spend around $2000 a month on diesel and would LOVE to reduce that by 30% if thats possable  . If it is you wont have to buy beer ever again mate believe me, hahahahaha. cheers Marcus. :D
