Wow thats interesting. Victoria has more than 1/2 of all of australias gas cars so usually we are among the cheapest in aus. At the moment it is high at 54.9 but a couple are as low as 44.9. when the 12.5 tax arrives thats really 14 with gst plus the 54.9 will bring metro areas to close to 70cpl. If fuel stays at 112.9 cpl part from the 10c jump once a week i cant see any point of running lpg as you lose 30% excepting some newer vehicles and some old really well tuned ones that lose 10- 15%. They must be making huge profit on lpg right now as fuel only costs 65.2 plus taxes. I also found that in northern vic and southern nsw the price in some towns vary from 43.9 up to 69.9. Whats up with that? 99.9 for the nullabor what a rip off. i saw it for 86.9 in walgett in nsw and nearly had a heart attack.

sorry did i just see a 12.5% tax on LPG in there somewhere? please explain? :?

The price for LPG is set once a month by some sort of agency who's name escapes me atm. If you look at servo's they will not change the price of LPG for a month once they have set it.

""The LPG industry has been particularly concerned since the May Budget that the new excise regime would send the sector broke. Under the changes announced today, LPG for cars, previously free of excise, will be taxed by 2.5 cents per litre from mid-2008. That'll go up to an eventual rate of 12.5 cents per litre by 2012""

Nope, we sell LPG at a loss to china and france at 2-3cpl...
That 2-3cpl is what they pay landed!
Problem is it cost more than that to ship it there!

Thats what i thought but it isnt true. The cost of LPG in China is similar to here. They pay roughly 25cpl for ever litre they purchase.and about 35cpl at the pump. 87.9 in Woodside thats rediculous. In Loch Sport it was 70.9 and i thought that was bad. In Czech republic its $1.09euro cpl about $2.10 aud so i suppose we should think ourselves lucky.
