Hey guys,

Whats the difference between the Impco L series converter and Aussie B2 converter.

I have my EF XR6 booked in for a LPG kit in this thursday and i have a choice either of the two converters but the B2 sits alot nicer in the engine bay.

Been told buy to workshops that they both are the same deal and will work exactly the same and do the same job.

How true is this???

Cheers

Michael

I know that the replacement cost of the B2 is much cheaper.

i would be going for the impco model L converter it uses silicone diaphrams as apposed to the old style hydrin diaphrams in the B2 as they are more affected by lpg contaminants. my car has been using the same converter for 8 years and has not had a drama with any contamination just a clean out every now and again and its all sweet.

internally they are almost the same just. the backing plate on the B2 is the water gasket and mounting plate. the L converter mount is on the side so it comes down really to how u want it to look. my L converter lays flat on the engine next to the throttle body so its neat and out of the way. (fitted to an ed 5.0 atm) and yes i am talkingabout the aussie B2 converter made by LG motor gas in cheltenham if ya wanted to know :)

I've got no complaints about the B2's.
I've been running them (2) in my car for a few years..

Yeh they seem alright and have seen them in many LPG conversion kits from different workshops so they must be a decent converter.

Yeh its a great job by the boys and they know there way around cars and have used many LPG kit brands and know what works better than others.

The only problem i have found is that on petrol it has lost a little bit of power/poke/respnsiveness for some reason and im going to leave it with them next week.

Im thinking that the mixer is restriting the air abit and need to find out if thats the case or get them to fit a bigger mixer, becuz if its lost power/poke/respnsiveness on petrol then its lost it on LPG as well.
