I've got the sprint gas restrictor mixer ring on my '94 V8. Is it possible to fit a impco mixer on my setup and would it more importantly flow more air to my engine?

Does anyone here run an Impco setup on their Ford?

I am running an Impco set-up on my AU VCT Ghia.
Not sure about the conversion you are enquiring about though.
Have never had and positive pressure issues or any other
flow probs. Runs smooth as.

How many kms do you get from a tank? What size is your tank? I've heard that my tiny mixer is good for economy but wouldn't mind something that can at least let my engine breathe!

I run an OMVL R90E convertor with simple mixer on my AU 5.0, far better than Impco as i've worked on and ran quite a few different setups on different cars, Impco will throw your economy out the door.

Before i got it dyno'd, I was lucky to get 350kms from filling up 65L. After I put on the right plugs, 8.8mm leads, oil designed for LPG cars and cleaned the filter, and a nice dyno tune, I'm now getting an easy 400-420kms no kidding. But it all depends how you drive really, I do think I can get more :D but I'm too much of a lead foot.

Exactly what I have now mate. I've got a set of AU heads for my car and cam to put in at the same time and was after a mixer that would let me use LPG with more airflow. I might just have to see what it feels like when I put the goodies in.

Yeah i hear ya, mine dropped acceleration on petrol as soon as i fitted the mixer, i've been searching but there's nothing around, i've got a few ideas on making my own with a 65 mm opening though.
The alternative is to inject it.

No.

Bigger gas carbs can/will actually improve economy as the reduced vac signal to the converter generally will allow the cruise mixtures to be much leaner than normally acheivable.

Are you talking impco producing poor economy in a 8, or a 6??

Coz I have a 6cy man eb2... whcih will return close to 500k's on a combined trip with sensible driving- and if thats bad economy for a vapour system I'll be....

I'm running an Impco on my AU Fairlane V8 but cant stop the back firing .
Going in again tomorrow and try again . So far have replaced :-
Plugs
Eagle leads
New Coils
new O2 sensors
New MAF
Nothing has made any difference so far . I put my Flash tuner on it and it didn't show any faults buy I tuned the ECU any way and that gave a slight improvement in performance but not on gas .
We will see what tomorrow brings .
