are second hand LPG tanks worth anything and the mixer/converter?

reason i ask is a mate has an 87 skyline, put on gas in about 95, hes thinking of wrecking it, doesn't run on petrol, its regd but no way would pass roadworthy.

If the tank has been given a new certificate withtin the last 5 years its sellable. A decent tank and condenser should go for $300. You wont be able to get all of the copper pipes out without some serious time up your sleeves.

Re tested tanks are as good as new, but can cost $100-200 for test, a mixer and converter with that sort of age on them will need new seals/gaskets, for what's involved, new converters and mixers can be bought off ebay at reasonable prices,
Buy the tank(allow for retest cost) go new for the other bits.

$100 is probably too much, tank won't even be set up with Ford mounts.
Better off getting a tank that was from a Ford EA onwards,(taxi's etc) $50 for one that needs a test.
there are a lot of them out there,

2 wreckers near me told me they strip LPG systems from wrecks and sell them for $700. Maybe your mate should call a wrecker posing as a buyer to get a price before letting it go for $200 or under $100. He could be giving someone the chance to make an easy $500...
