Hey guys, might be a stupid question but the i have a ford ef mont auto on dualfuel and on take off it has this annoying whining noise reminds me of a cab.

It sounds like it's coming from the rear of the car like either the gas or the transmission. Like i said it probably is a stupid question but any help in the right direction would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Pat

Check the transmission cooler and radiator for a blockage or pipes for a kink.

The torque converter whines in 1st gear on most cars fitted with automatics. That's perfectly normal and sounds wonderful! :)

Regards,
Dave

Haha i figured it wasn't broken as it sounds like a cab... I think i'd have to disagree on it sounding wonderful. Is there anyway of changing this other than switching to manual?

i had the same problem, it was found to be worn bearings in the differential, i had the standard 3.23 diff replaced with a 3.73 LSD improved take off and 0 -100 by a full sec, and noise was gone too.
good fuel efficiency around town on highway you lose 5% fuel milage, improves performance for towing applications hence y i got one.....

gm makes a 7 litre v8 z06 corvete has the same diff gear as my car
