the remote start is a smartlock issue which can be overcome

If I used this on my EB series 1, would I be able to use the remote to have keyless entry on it?

if your car does not have smartlock, then yes i believe it will work

I have spoken to a few installers and 1/3 of them say they can in fact install the alarm by bypassing the smart lock, however my preferred installer says he cannot attempt it..

ahh sorry mate, my previous reply was mistaken..i thought you asked whether your eb1 will be able to have remote start, not keyless entry

yes 100% you will have remote keyless entry with this alarm.
