Custom - whatever you want, any colour, max of 7 letters/numbers. Personalised - must be alpha numeric and only avail in certain colours. Has the SA logo in between letters/numbers, kinda like a std plate i.e. A-12345 AB-1234 ABC-123 ABCD-12 ABCDE-1 BLWN-49

personalised plates dont have a yearly subsription, custom plates do $190 a year in my case.custom plates r more flexible with what you can have ie falcon or xrate etc.ownership of personalised plate can be transfered into someone elses name.i checked with motor reg yesterday.

LAST i SPOKE TO MOTOR REG.U ACTUALLY HAVE TO RETURN PLATES AND THE NEW ONWER HAS TO APPLY TO MOTOR REG FOR THOSE PLATES\NAME ETC
