Here is a good find for you Victorian members.
Looks to be a legit set of 4 ELGT rims but I'd ask the seller first and check they have ROH stamped on the inside somewhere.

Bids starting at $2000. New from Ford is they had any left is $3500 for a set of 4 with no tyres.

Another set! at the same price makes the other set look average.
What are the chances of 2 genuine sets being up for sale in the same week?

And whats the chances that either set will sell at that price?

Victorian set slim to none? no decent tyres and dirty looking, very limited info on ad regarding condition.
SA set, slim to fair? good looking add and enough info?

Theyre both Vic sets....

The ones with brand new treads are 8.5", copys were only 8" IIRC. plus they are mint as.
But still, theres plenty of other rims I'd be happier dropping $2k on.

I'd just ask the question to the first set guy if they are genuine and if they have ROH stamped on the inside of one of the spokes.

I must admit i wouldn't bother spending more than 1k on EL GT's, genuine or not.
They're looking so outdated and common these days, not mention small!

I guess i'm just kinda over them bad.

I just got a set myself. I reckon they look mint on E series.

I'm not a fan of 19"s or above they look like the car is trying to be something that its not.

If I could get my hands on a set of ELGT genuine that'd be awesome, it'd be even better if an EL GT came with the rims.

I'd have them any day of the week - 17 X 8.5 is a great size IMHO...look great on ES - they're a good all rounder - 18's and more-so 19's on ES means rolling guards, hub adaptors...it goes on - all the crazy kids thinking 19's or 20's are where it's at....ah I dunno, showing my age perhaps.

I'd also consider the difference between a good ROH alloy material with an inferior alloy sometimes found in cheaper rims.

Either which way - $2K isn't a bad price if they're in mint condition and not faded...especially with brand new rubber (Nankang...ah well - at least they're new) :P

I can see why people pay that kind of money, i just wouldn't personally.
They've been the staple choice of rims for E Series guys for years. From EA-EL, they suit them.
I guess i would never get them now, cause they definately wouldn't suit my car now.

Meh, each to their own i guess though.

I see where you are coming from Dave...I have owned 2 sets (both from new) on 2 separate cars over the past 7 years - back then they were certainly a minority and I guess had a certain prestige about them.

there was a set of copies sold for about $550 recently. I was p****d off I didn't put in a bid. Every now and then there are some incredible barggains on ebay. I just missed a set of EF fairmont ghia leathers for $51 this week. One split seam on the drivers bum but the rest was perfect. Easily fixed I am spewing I was hesitating.
