Beng a repairable write off the vehicle can't be registered without an inspection. This inspection checks receipts and the workmanship of the repair. WOVI's (written off vehicle instections) can be done at a limited amount of places.
In queensland they are taken care of by ISA, Inspection Services Australia and are done at Fowles Eagle Farm in Brisbane, this being a newish car the inspection will cost approx $660. Hope this sheds some light on write offs |

Apparently writing off a BA with water damage is fairly common with the BA's even if its not drastic as all the looms sit in the floor pan, so if you repair one you basically have to replace the loom which you wouldn't want to do....maybe this guy didnt go to the trouble if everything still worked - bit of a risk though

yeah that bar is the standard one by the looks of it, not the xr bar.
i could be wrong, but it dosen't look like the xr rear bar.
