OK guys - i'm just testing the water here. Turns out the supercharger i have fitted doesnt stand a hope in hell of getting a tick on the roadworthy inspection.

It will need to come off - so i'm considering selling the kit.

Would there be an interested party at... say.... $3500?

-blower
-bracket
-pulleys and belts
-vortech FMU
-water injection kit
-etc etc

Wow Martin, you only got picked on once for being too low, shouldn't be enough for you to turn the thing to stock lol.
To be honest i think your car looks very sedate as it is, most family Falcons have wheels, lowered and a rear spoiler. Your car isn't anything i'd look at as being a power machine by the way it looks.

You'll sell everything off and regret it in a big way.

Will she go straight onto my AU?

Well here's the deal. Ive found evidence that in SA, a vehicle made after 1976 will require a secondary compliance plate if fitted with a supercharger or turbo.

Im not paying for it to be engineered so it is coming off before the inspection. Fun job. To then take the car home and re-fit the setup... just doesnt appeal to me, knowing that the thing would effectively be a rolling defect.

The kit is designed for EB-EL V8. However, to fit to an AU v8, you prob just need a different bracket. To fit to an I6 youll need a different bracket and different intake plumbing.

Oh - the kit also comes with a 73mm MAF.

You should have a chat to CAPA and see if they're confident that you could get an engineers certificate. They could probably point you in the right direction too! I'd say worth the few hundred dollars as opposed to having to drive a stock 302.. Unless of course you have other plans.

Wanna swap for Scat 347 and AFR's ? hehehe

How long have you had the blower though?
It's been a rolling defect for that long!
Just put 'low' springs in it, leave the rims, dump the plates, and put the blower back on when you get home from the inspection.
Going back to stock is going to be a shock to the system!

The blower is 18 months old, probably seen 10-12 thousand kms...

CAPA stand by the compliance of their kits but it still involves engineers and secondary compliance plates... i dont really have the money to be getting the s**t done that im doing at the moment... let alone pay for an engineer to do whatever it is they do....

This is still an outstanding deal :)

Have you got a quote on the engineering costs?? You'll find its not as bad as you think. I had a list of things I needed engineered on my Waggin which was verrry long and the engineer was only going to charge around $800 to get them all done. Just a simple supercharger kit should be a breeeeeze!

martin, with how you rave over this thing i think you will get withdrawls taking it off.

i agree with waggin, least make a phonecall to an engineer and get a quick figure. 400-500 bucks could be a lot less of a pain than pulling it off!

Lol - what are you all in the pockets of the engineers or something?

Well... plan a is still to sell it... but frequently paying $1.45 for 98 octane fuel i wouldnt be suprised if no one wants it...

At which time i'll re-fit to my car... at the risk of having a 6 grand set of paper weights! lol
