Looking for expressions of interest in an AU (series 1) 5.0L V8. Perfect for the E-series owner looking to upgrade. Don't fall into the trap that I did, buying heads and manifold seperately and then spending $$thousands getting them to bolt up!

Obviously includes GT40P heads and explorer manifolds. Engine is completely stock (185kW I assume) except for roller rockers installed by previous owner. Engine has done approx 150k. Has been in my car for about 6 months and hasn't missed a beat.

NOTE: This is NOT the engine that I posted up previously after a timing cover failure and was full of an oil/water mix. THAT engine is being rebuilt and hopefully returned to its rightful home under my own bonnet...

Its 185KW if its from an XR8. 175KW from most other models I believe.

Yes 185kw at the fly - all kw figures from the factory are at the fly wheel.

Matt - sorry to hear of your troubles hope the new engine is sorted ASAP !

Good luck with the sale mate :)

Problem wasn't with Mick, it was my mistake buying parts unseen off a FM member who shall remain nameless...

The manifolds looked great because they had been cleaned by sandblasting so much that they wouldn't maintain vacuum seal, and the heads had more bent valves than straight.

This was the basis for my comment about buying the engine as an entire, running unit rather than the parts seperately where you can't see how they'll perform until too late.
