Hi girls and guys.I have forsale my ute,its a 1985 2WD single cab V8 ute.It's engineered and has a worked 308,rebuilt and shift kitted trimatic with large cooler,shortened ford borg warner lsd diff with 3.1 gears,18inch rims with good tyres,retrimmed interior,cd player,V8 commodore radiator with thermo fan,very little rust,body straight but needs paint,registered till august 08.$10,000ono or will consider swap for something of interested.Can contact me (Bryan) on 0439189312 or 02 69642080 or email me at kruptd83@iprimus.com.au thanks.

hey mate little off topic but how bouts you go fittin the 308 in as i got an rn110r sr5 4wd i want to put in a 253/308 and was wondering how hard it was i.e engine mounts ect

Well i bought this ute off someone so i didnt do the work but i have looked over the car to see how easy it is to drop a V8 into one.Seeing how this is only a 2wd its not much of a job,but if you have a 4wd hilux i think you do run into trouble with the front diff i've heard.But you can buy those V8 conversion kits to make fitment straight forward.This model hilux was a SR5 was diesel with the tacho in the dash and had air con.It uses the original engine mounts from the diesel motor but there were engine mount plates which have been made up,the gearbox uses the original holden mount and the crossmember has not been cut or modified.The motor and transmission came out of a VK commodore,the tailshaft looks like a standard one,and the diff has been shortened from a falcon.I do have a set of extractors which are from a VL V8 they hug the block better the left side seems to fit but the drivers side needs to be modified slightly.But havent fitted them.Hope that helps.

thanks mate gives me a fair idea, hope i dont run into trouble with the diff, only thing is i wopuld like to keep my 5 speed , thanks again for the info good luck sellin her looks and sounds the part

i think you can keep your original gearbox just get an adapter to suit the bellhousing and the back of the box have seen some floating on ebay/also conversion kits.

Yes the ute is street legal.Its (engineered) i have the papers.Its also registered if you had looked at the add.
