I guess EF/EL housings, and mine must be a EA/EB/ED housing

i THINK, so don't quote me, that some EB's came with 3.27 diff gears.

as far as i'm aware 2.92 and 3.23 gears are interchangable, but the 3.27/3.45 are a different housing?

Diff gears are diff gears...

All diff gears to suit a LR-69 Borgwarner diff are interchangeable.

All diffs use the same gear from EBII to AUI... EA to EBI were 2 pinion 25 spline centres... EBII to AUI were 4 pinion 28 splines centres... however the gears are all interchangeable between centres... So as far as I'm aware, gears for EBII will suit ED EF EL AUI models... And maybe EA & EB centres (unsure if bolt pattern is different) Most ford 8" diffs are interchangable, only major differences were things actually mounted to the housing in terms of hand brake mounting points, etc...

Cheers,
Tim

oh...

you have an EA?

maybe 4 pinion gears don't suit a 2 pinion diff? I thought they would though? :? Maybe someone who has done more work on them than me can answer this?

Majority of bogwarner diff have interchangable gears like for instance the 4.11 abd 3.89 centre from skylines and pintara's can be used in a commodore rear diff from vl onwards up till they go to irs and with fords anything from id say early xd or maybe abit earlier with a 2.92 centre you can change the carrier and centre to a 4pinion/28spline.

Anything like a XF rear with 2.77 ratio the housing is too small for these larger carriers,so you will need to change the diff over.

At the moment i have a EA sedan diff in my XD,and im at the stage of changing over the whole centre to a spooled 4pinion/28splined centre and also adding in new gears of 3.45's out of a EL sedan diff and also changing axles to 28spline.

Do you know if both gears are from the same or separate diffs?

I'm not sure if these are actually genuine now seeing i couldnt find any bw78xxxx3.45 or bw75xxxxx3.45 that you mentioned...

On the pinion ive found stamped

0578-023 AX 3.45 BTRENG 2

and on the crown gear ive found

0578 019 GA 3.45 - BTREnG

fordman351, I was told also these are matching gears, meaning they were manufactured together and were in the same diff.

Im willing to let these go now for $100 as i dont need them at all now
