As the title suggests im in Perth and soon to put up for sale my engine (due to Joe at CMS building me a replacement with go-faster bits). She's done 230,000kms never missed a beat - reason for sale is purely that I needed my car to get to work to afford a performance motor and would have taken too long to send it to Sydney, get rebuilt and returned....

The only issue I've had with her has occured recently, slight ticking noise under acceleration - very minor and very similiar to the noise you get from the HLAs - its intermittent and may have been from a recent oil change. This car is regulalry serviced by a very qualified mechanic (family friend). My mechanic is now supplying 20/50 valvoline oil where the cars always had 15/40 castrol magnatec or gtx series...The ticking came in a couple thousand after that change around the 215,000kms change.....at 220,000 and 225,000 I did two full flushes each run with 15/40 magnatec and now the oils cleaner and ticking appears to have calmed right down....its not the lifters as they were replaced at 220,000 and incase they were a dud set as ticking was present 2,000kms later we replaced with another new set....under the valvoline the ticking was still there....unusual as with the magnatec I normally always had higher oil pressure with the valvoline I get a more medium level pressure reading..just with ticking :P

It also is intermittent but appears more so after a refuel - so could even be a bit of injector noise - as i'll be using the same injectors when the new engine arrives just to see if its them...

So if i didnt have to go down that path I would have kept her - great fuel economy from a straight petrol auto around 490-570kms per tank on 98RON (always used 95+ but mostly 98). I do roughly 75kms a day in her half freeway half suburban - shes never seen the strip or circuit and been well looked after, regularly serviced and oil changed every 5 to 10,000kms.

This would just be the head and bottom end for sale as I require manifolds etc for the replacement engine.

I'm looking at $450 however open to negotiate - can arrange freight as the engine I have coming over will be on a custom skid to make freight cheaper as many charge at a pallet rate....will take a photo and post today
Note: This is located in Perth.

Cheers
Kev

Pics as promised - havent yet been able to give her a good degrease and clean - was a hot day in the garage 43'C outside so pics are a touch glarey.

I do have a skid that was made up to send the new motor over so can be used to strap this one down to send over east - made it so much cheaper for me to get the engine from sydney as most only went on box to pallet sizing....
