Just fishing for interest at the moment, ive been thinking about converting my 5 speed Fairmont back to Auto for a couple reasons. I need someone with a perfect running auto tranny to meet up in Brisbane or Warwick which PIMP_LTD has shown interest to do the work required (swap) for a fee of course, that cost would be shared between the 2 car owners. PIMP_LTD is well qualified to do the job !!!

One reason being, my car hardly gets driven anymore, maybe once a week, and im kinda over trying to make the Fairmont go quicker and theres no-where really where i can enjoy the car properly without getting in trouble, so thinking about switching back to a Fairmont cruiser.

Theres no catch, i had my 5 speed fully reco'd before it went in with new clutch cable, and has done roughly 30,000km's since. It has a Valeo heavy duty clutch put in only a few thou km's ago and is running a 6 bolt flywheel and EF manual ECU. Also has the Mal Wood pedal pin with reinforcing plate, i havnt had any probs so far with pedal box flexing, nor firewall probs. Has been run with the best oil money can buy for the T5, also has new clutch fork

In other words, im going to be very fussy as i know how much it costs to reco an autobox, and i dont want to go from a perfect running manual, to a slipping auto. It has to be from a low km car, i will test drive it to make sure. Must NOT be a leaking box, as that means more expense for me afterwards. Would prefer to see an autobox with measures taken to prolong its life, aftermarket oil cooler bypassing the radiator for example. I want both of us driving away happy.

So let me know whats out there, and dont take it personally if i am very fussy choosing. My manual conversion cost me $2000, so you will be saving yourself alot of money, and have confidence your getting an excellent cond box, plus your car will go twice as hard !!!

Lets see whats out there !!!

My box in my NL gets serviced every 30,000's, and its got the 2800 highstall to go with it ...

I can organise a place for a complete swap in a day ..

Laticia.
