Pretty straight forward. Can be done in an hour.

This is for EF/EL
Take off gear knob and shifter boot inside car.
Undo two bolts to remove shifter lever.
Undo 4 bolts that hold the rubber boot securing plate.
Remove rubber boot and plate.
Jack your car up.
Lower the cross member that hold the gearbox. Support gearbox with a jack. I don't recommend leaving it hanging after undoing the 2 bolts on the crossmember. Once I undid the two bolts on the crossmember slowly lower the jack with the gearbox on it until you have sufficient room to remove the front two shifter bolts.
Undo the four bolts that hold the shifter turret in. Rear two can be done from inside the car the front two have to be done from underneath, which is why you lowered the gearbox.
Remove shifter turret. Make sure the plastic sleeve on the shifter ball doesnt drop into gearbox when removing turret.
Install new shifter turret with new bolts supplied.
Do up the bolts for gearbox cross member and re-torque the bolts.
Put on rubber boot and securing plate.
Install shifter lever.
Install shifter boot cover and gear knob.

Done.
Have a drive and then have a beer.

just to confirm im in.

yours when i had a look at it didnt have the "positive stops" right, cos it was very short already.

i want the short shifter, but am unsure if i need the adj. stops??? convince me either way :)

p.s. LATE jan would be best for me, as car still has no gearbox.

p.p.s you have a p.m.
