I bought this NA Sportsman for my wife 1 year ago. It had a blown head gasket, no third gear and was out of rego. Other than that it was pretty tidy.

I bought a head of Troyman, had it shaved and tested and installed it with a new gasket kit. All up cost me $450.00.

The gearbox was not worth the hastle, so I bought the old one from BenJ's Black Wagon. This I still haven't got around to installing. It drives fine, but with no third gear, it's revving off it's tit's by the time you hit 70-80klm/h :( . It has been fine for the wife to run around town as mum's taxi, but link roads and the F3 are a big no-no. I just don't have the time to fit it so I will throw the replacement box in with the sale. I bought it for $250 from BenJ.

Also to go with the car is the DC LTD leather seats I currently have fitted to the NC. I toyed with the idea of fitting them to the new wagon, but the wife is not fussed with the leather, so it's out the door as well. I will put up a link to the page in my NC build thread to show the quality of the leather. Basically, the rear seat is pretty nice, but the front seats have a couple of small tears and a bit of the stitching has come undone. Leather cost me $250.00

I also bought a second hand power steering pump for it, but there is still a small leak somewhere in the lines I just quite can't put my finger on :?

The car has had very little use in the last 12 months since I registered it, so the pic's in the build thread link below are pretty much how it sit's today.

Ran out of rego on 20th December 09. Only thing that needs to be done for rego is to replace the gearbox, but in saying that, it passed last year as it doesn't form part of the inspection.

Just throwing it out there as it has until 20th March to get a pink slip done before the dreaded Blue slip is required. If it doesn't sell, I will either keep it for a future project or part it out. Let's see how it goes. It would make a very easy project car considering it is already pretty clean, :D How many other two-tone NA sportsmans are there with leather

Asking for $1000 which includes the spare box and the DC leather. Pretty damn good deal if you ask me.

It will be going out the front this weekend with the For Sale signs. Don't miss out
No interest by mid next week, it will be off to Evilbay.

Here's a few pic's of it taken today. Had a flat battery, but other than that it fired first kick. Tomorrow the NC seats and door cards come out and the leather goes in. Will put pic's up to show the result when I'm done.

The sunroof works too
Once the pic's of it fitted with leather pop up, it might generate a little more interest :(

The new member of the family was a bit of a bully today and kicked the NA out of it's kennel.

It now needs a new home and a roof over it's head

leather should start to turn heads, tho alot of people think these are too big to be fast... but these are lighter then AU's!!!!!!

Not sure if I'll do one on the wagon. Might just modify the NC's build thread to include it's sibblings, now that it's mods are being reversed. I have a new plan for the NC, it isn't exactly going to ever look factory again, more going down the line of dumped sleeper

I started playing with the wagon today. Removed the factory head unit which wasn't working ( was nice and quiet on the 2 hour trip home from Sydney  ), installed a new VDO Dayton HU I have had sitting in a box for the last 2 years. I know, it's a bit of a cheapie, but I don't need music that makes my ears bleed. It actually works very well with the factory speakers, but I found myself sizing up the tailgate today for a set of Fusion 6x9's I have.
I fear the mod bug has bitten again. I have a big day planned tomorrow for the 3 x LWB Ford Sisters

a big NOOOO! for the 6x9's. i have cadence 4x6" splits (little 3" mid and a tweeter) so bugger all weight and my tailgate drops on cold days, so i can only imagine how hard it would be to hold up a tailgate with 2 6x9's in it

The rear struts are cactus anyway. I was holding up the tailgate today with a big stick!
But, I didn't think about that......hmmm. The struts will eventually be replaced, but the fusions are heavy suns'o'b**ch :?
