Well, I was considering selling her anyway and after a little nudge up the ar$e the other day I’ve made up my mind to let her go. I simply couldn’t be bothered repairing her backside so whoever has the time to pull some tin and change over some parts can have her.

Excusing the massaged backside she has all the goodies and more as you’ll see below. Here’s the offering:

1998 AU Fairmont Ghia Sedan
5.0L V8 - Tickford 200kw (2000 model)
Oxford Green, Automatic
A low 160,011km (plus most major components new or near new)
Located in Brisbane
Price: Open to all reasonable offers (expecting $5k+ though) - someone will get a good deal here.

ENGINE

Newly fitted 200kw XR8 engine (late 2000 model)
Yella Terra roller rockers
Mild cam (specs unknown)
Brand new QIL racing leads
Brand new NGK Irridum spark plugs
Brand new fuel filter, drive belt fitted and oil pressure gauge

DRIVELINE

New fully rebuilt automatic transmission
New 2800rpm stall converter
Newly rebuilt 3.45 limited slip diff
Alloy tail shaft
Independent rear suspension

EXTERIOR

Oxford Green metallic
Tinted windows
Rear wing – needs repair
17 x 8 inch BA XR rims
Headlight protectors

INTERIOR

Full leather interior option (grey)
Leather and woodgrain LTD steering wheel
Leather LTD centre console (vary rare)
Woodgrain LTD headlight switch (brand new)
Ghia monogramed floor mats
Premium sound system with 6 stacker
All usual Ghia luxuries (elec windows, elec drivers seat, climate control, trip computer, traction control, mobile phone arial etc)

EXHAUST

Pacemaker extractors (tri-y)
Full twin 2 1/4 inch through to exhaust tips
Twin high flow cats
X-pipe
Twin 2 1/2 inch baffled stainless steel exhaust tips
Lukey mufflers
New oxy sensors
The most beautiful exhaust note!

SUSPENSION & BRAKES

Recently lowered suspension - full set of King lows
New full set of German Boge shock absorbers
New camber caster kit and various bushes
DBA slotted rotors front and rear

OTHER

Reasonably new radiator
New top and bottom hoses

The car still drives fine, no issues there, just unroadworthy at the moment due to no lights/signals at the rear. The car has rego on her until about the end of July, selling as is though.
The quarter panels have some rippling in them and could do with some pulling and rolling. The floor pan has some creasing which appears simple enough to straighten out. Clearly she needs a boot lid, tail lights, a rear bar etc.

She's a very nice car for someone who wants to repair these things. I won't be fixing her up, it's just far too low on my priority list at the moment.

With the 200kw engine, new box, new diff, new suspension, exhaust, rims and luxury interior etc there's a quite a bit of value there. As stated above, I'm happy to consider all reasonable offers.

Car can be viewed in Brisbane (west, about 15k from CBD) – Please PM me regarding offers or more information.

OK, will see what I can do re more pics, probably won't be until the weekend though. I'll post up what I have just at the moment (it's far too bloody cold to be standing out in the garage at the moment). Rather than dump heaps of pics in this thread, please check my User Gallery as they're all posted there.

http://fordmods.com/forums/gallery.php?pageid=3&cart=Free347

I've never looked at the gap between the rear doors and the quarters until now - they have closed up somewhat. Can these be pulled?

I'll need to take better ones of inside the floor. At this stage I can only see a fold on the left side and the pic I have isn't very good.

I'll also try to remove the towbar, rear bumper and tail lights on the weekend to show as much as I can.

I've no idea what I'm looking at under the car so if I can figure out the rails thing then I'll capture them too.

I certainly don't want to hide a thing and would encourage all to either come and have a good look at the car or send someone you know around to check it out thoroughly.

She needs to be gone in the next 3 weeks - she's taking up the garage and I have another (new) car sitting out in the weather.

If anyone want to discuss anything about the car at all you can reach me on 0413 606 401 - ask for Mark.

The car is fixable depends if anyone wants to spend the money, the car will need to go on a caraliner to be pulled, my guess the rail in the top of the arch of the floor will have a kink in it thats the norm when you get hit like you have it gives in the arch of the rail. to repear id say your looking at min 2K.

Shai12 - sure, will take more side pics on the weekend - is there anything in particular you want me to focus on, angle etc?

It was my mate who actually ran into me believe it or not - does he feel like a goose! The Holden Rodeo ute he was driving was hardly scratched - gotta laugh!

Provked - the car wasn't written off at all, no. It is registered until 18 July (just another 3 weeks) - perfectly fine to repair and register etc, no problem at all. I won't be renewing the rego though so after 18/7 she's unreg.

Remember guys, the car is in Brisbane. More than happy for you to send someone around to have a look. If you could hear idle and rev her you'd melt

Also, I forgot to add in my initial post that she has a top of the line Mongoose integrated (with Smartlock) alarm installed too. No separate keypad, it operates in conjunction with the existing keypad control.

Shai12 - I've found and added two more pics of the rear quarters to my gallery, please let me know exactly what you need and I'll organise pics as best I can for you.

Fair enough - $5,900. First in at that price - done, end of story.

Remember, car is sold as is with no rwc - that's up to you. It can't legally be driven on the road due to no tail lights. I'm happy to pay for towing to anywhere in Brisbane City. Anywhere outside Brisbane it's at buyers cost and buyer to arrange carrier pickup.
