OK so let me get this straight, if i was to get a kit for the mont there would be no change in the high beam, only HID in the low beam. Is that right???

Yes just low beam replacements

teh kits come with a power transformer which plugs itno your existing loom, you mount that on the skirt panel near your air box
Then the lead goes to the new hid globe which fits in your h4 (low beam) spot!

Has anyone successfully optimized the beam pattern from a HID conversion in the EL fairmont headlamps? I'd imagine this would be similar to the EF/EL falcon/fairmonts.

I mean the correct beam pattern, light output locations and cutoff that the reflector has with halogen lamps?

I'm very interested in a set if anyone has done it? I notice you're in lilydale, I'm nearby, does anyone else have HIDs in their EF or EL around here that I could have a look at? If they can be setup correctly, I'm after a 4500 kelvin set.

There are plenty of good HID kits from eBay for $200-250... I've purchased 3 sets, ch0c0 is running a set and so is Regie..

extreemly interested. A couple of questions though,
1 - do these heat up the headlight more than normal halogen bulbs
2 - i read on the site that they provide 2 year replacement on the kits. Will you do the same ??

Depends on the Brand and specs of the units...which we dont have. SomeHID kits will run hotter than other and some even provide a warning that the company cant be held responsible for your head lamp housing melting :P

Obviously its the initial power on where the gas is "excited" and ignited where the most amount of heat is produced after that it reduces considerably.

In saying that tho we dont really know anything about these kits BUT there is a variety of kits being run on members cars witin this forum and none have encountered those sort of issues.

no more info can be provided other than what is on the website. it is being bought from them, so you warranty with them will still be in place.

hey dude...since I take it your the one dealing with them ...is it all by email...or will you be arranging payment etc by phone ?

Just thinking if your were in contact with them you could provide more info.... or a number for someone else to call to get more detail ...

Cheers and I apologise if i sound annoying....just hate not knowing anything about something I would consider purchasing

Apologies guys, the d***head seller is now trying to say he quoted in US dollars or something of that variety, he's f**k us around so we've pulled out of the group buy.

Apologies for getting anyone's hopes up, but I've decided to buy a set off ebay and see how they go, so offering my services as a guinea pig to make up for it! sorry again!
