Why do people think they can ask such exorbitant prices for friggin licence plates.

Well, people advertise them in the paper for a lot more than that, (15, 20K) and have done so for years, sop obviously someone/s are buying them!

Market forces... people will pay what they thinks its worth. and obviously some people think its worth it. and good luck to them!
