if you have an auto this cam will be good, both because it provides midrange gains (not just top end) and if you get anything bigger your ecu might start playing silly buggers (without high stall)

Just a quick note, adrian has this cam in his car which is a 5 speed manual and ran 14.9 at the drag day so it can certainly move and works just as well with manual cars.

RPD site says that valve springs are only needed for R3 R4 and R5, but it also says that the R6 is new so does that mean that they need springs or not?
How many shims are needed for this?

well jaysen recommended putting stronger valve springs in, and i wouldnt have any idea how shims are needed, since i havent put it in. wouldnt take much to shim one set of rocker gear (ie int and exh) then the rest would be the same

0.480" isnt a huge amount of lift, standard springs will still be fine.

ive seen alot more lift on standard springs and no problems, but of course changing them is recomended for big lift...

these specs are only from memory (as ive lost the sheet i had with its specs)
.480" lift and a very small lobe seperation was about as much as i can remember, and it works good with .045" lift at intake opening TDC

Where did u get those specs from???

hahaha, hey blacksabbath189, what you need is someone with an r6 to give some feed back on how it performs in thier car, people need to hear/see results...

has anyone got an R6 cam who has taken it to the strip? what time have you run??? or dyno results???? that would be helpful....

hope you get some feed back that helps you out!

I am running an R6.. Have not put it down the ¼ but on the track its pretty damn good.
For Comparison... Stock XR6 Cam Eastern Creek = 1.59.5 sec per lap.
R1 @ the creek = 1.57.2 lap.
R3 @ the creek = 1.56 Flat
R6 @ the creek = 1.56.8 Lap.

I've been driving there for years I know this track well.

These were average times set during 20min sessions. Times were recorded with dorions so no human error can come into it. Same tyres, brakes etc.

Idle is smooth, power comes on about 2000 and keeps running till just before redline. Dynos suck and this is not a dyno queen cam. Just no s**t honest gear that works.

Runs Gen III's pretty well to. Keeps em honest.

Want any further info pm me. Sick of the hypocritical s**t that tends to follow these comments.

Dave
