i have a fueltronics branded, speed limiter overide module (its new) got it off eBay, but now im too scared to put it in (and i need the money cos my car has probs) it will work with all auto ED to EL I6's and V8's, and maybe AU series ones what it does is bypasses the speed limiter (all autos are limited to approx 180kmh, so you can go faster. product name is "speed cut lifter - PRO" http://www.fueltronics.com.au, worth $350 new and REALLY hard to come by secondhand, will sell for $200.

also work with a whole pile of other cars (checkout their site) and if you need help installing, i can help you with that too.

s**t I dont know why you would want to go over 180km/h on Suburban roads anyway. Unless you are at a local Race track having a race meet, I guess. But even then you going to have Tail shaft issues anyway going over 180km/h cause thats what they are only rated at.

im fairly sure that all AUTO falcons fitted with an eletronic auto (ea up) have a speed limiter, the ONLY exeption to that is the ex cop cars with the opt20 plate - they arent limited.

i know about the whole tailshaft thing, and the few people whove gone over 180 (on LPG it bypassed) didnt seem to have any problems. your right though it is only usefull for someone doing track work.

BossXR8: your "pretty sure" has already turned into a "talking out your a**" since my ED is limited to 180 (dont try and tell me it isnt either) and your "pretty sure" these cars werent on gas?.

djr: im not saying your wrong outright, BUT how far out is your speedo if its out just 10% your 200 becomes 180.

andrew j: shouldnt you be off post whoring?

when someone im gonna beleive tells me im wrong i will take it, but i aint gonna take it from a few members ive never seen before, so unless someone is absoloutly certian they are right dont open your mouth just to try and seem like you know your stuff. im sick of people adding their 20c just so their post count is higher than thier age.

Well i can tell you for FACT that not all auto's were limited. I've sat in an auto XR8 doing over 200km/h... and before you start this speedo inaccuracy s**t, the car was stock.

Well I know for a fact, that my EB is not limited, its auto, and not an ex cop car. So while i may be to remove the speed limiter, it doesnt exist on quite a few cars. And as for post whoring, Ill do what I like. Youll find that quite a few of my posts are actually there for a reason, and i help out wherever I can. Just because you may not be able to sell you 300 dollar speed limiter, you dont have to take it out on others. Theyre not the wisest option for anyone, bar a racer on the track, but even then, the speedlimiter is there for a reason, it being the tailshaft. And like I said, good luck in selling it.

yes happy i do need a hug, you offering?

ok enough people have told me now, ill take it, ea and eb seem to not be limited. (then why the hell does the instructions for this thing have EA and EB instructions?)

haggis: WTF, how does the car being stock affect the fact that most speedo's are foobared from the factory? and what model XR8 was it?,people seem to leave this and other important bits of info out

XR ECU. And JOSE, the speed limit "fits" everything from EA to AU, and removes the speedlimiter if it exists. If it doesnt, it still fits, it just doesnt do anything :P
