Hi All,

I've got a seperate thread going for the EL I'm wrecking, but I wanted to specifically mention the engine and gearbox!

I want them gone this weekend so I will be letting them go very cheaply - provided you remove and supply the engine crane. I can arrange an engine crane, however then the price will be a bit more. I can also lend a hand with removal when needed, but won't be able to do the whole job.

Anyhow, engine is EL 4.0 I6 - non hybrid type. It runs really well, and is nice and responsive with no smoke, rattles, tapping or other undue noises. The engine comes totally complete with all accessories. Engine is still in car and is still running, so you can see and hear it before buying.

I'm also selling the tranny which is the standard EL 4 speed Auto - drives well, shifts smoothly and kicks down quickly with no clunking.

Prices are dependent on whether you remove and can supply a crane, so if you are interested just let me know and we can discuss.
I am located in Cheltenham VIC. My mobile is 0418 597 239 if you would like to chat!

As I mentioned, I want this stuff gone THIS WEEKEND if at all possible, so pricing will be pretty keen.

Thanks,

Justin.

ENGINE NOW SOLD!!

Auto is still available. If you want to get a feel for how the auto goes in the car, you must get to my by Saturday 10am as that is when the engine is going! (Test drive not available though as car is partially stripped. You can however move it around my driveway and play with the gears etc.)

I should also mention that the trans will be removed this Saturday, at the same time as the engine - so the buyer of the tranny will no longer have to remove it!

Price will still be $200 for the trans!

The cluster said 250k when I bought the car, however I later found that it was an EF cluster, not EL, so the kays were not correct. I do know however the cluster wasn't changed to wind back kays, it was changed because EF's have white needles, and he was spraying the surround white as well, so thought it would look good.

In my opinion, the car had done around 150-200k (probably closer to 200). I base this on the fact that the head gasket has only just been done for the 1st time, and they usually go around 150-200ish, the body and interior (if you look past the mess and sanded back paint) are VERY straight and in good nick, and the fact that it's quieter and drives better than my near immac one owner EF with full log books and 190k. I DO WANT TO BE CLEAR THOUGH, I AM ONLY ESTIMATING THIS, SO PLEASE SEE AND HEAR RUNNING FOR YOURSELF, AND YOU BE THE JUDGE.

You are more than welcome to come and have a look though.

Thanks,

Justin.

$200 is already dirt cheap for a good auto go ring around your local wreckers.

For $100 I'll stick it in my shed and keep it as a backup for my AU or my EF which both use the same transmission.

Ill agree with that. At my old wrecker they used to sell ED trans as ef and el for like 330+.

200 is a decent price for a decent trans. They are an expensive transmission so $200 is good.

Ohh Bump
