My Tc cortina powered by a 350 chev, 2speed glide, 9" on 150shot of gas
ran a 9.51 @ 142 mile car weight is 1310kg's at that time the motor was only making 490hp rw. cold night at the wisd.

Our times should be very close with our cars and engines being nearly the same, but you should be quicker given I'm running a stock ECU and you've got the unichip and a slightly bigger cam

4. i had a reaction time of two seconds on the first one. heheh. whoops
5. Wisd 5/4/06 was coolish
6. street potenza's
7. 15.416 ET quick for what it is i think. very stock. top speed was 144.23 k/mh
8. 2.297 60' time

That's a very good 60 foot time there considering the time elapsed, being a ghia I assume it's an auto? How are you launching it?

still goota figure out the misfire prob... not sure about the fastest i6 na title.. more fastsest 60 footer on street tyres.. lol... a more achievable goal for me atm... :lol:

ok guys

over fourty cars entered the WWW.FM.com Hearhcote drag racing day last night was good to meet a few more members from this great forum

Ok the load down i didnt get the EL ready but i had a few passes with the FPV_GTp and had a bit of a laugh throw the night as well


the low down as followers

1. type of car u raced down the quarter mile ? type of engine , gearbox diff , N/A , turbocharged , supercharged , NOS
2. weight of the car and ur weight could be enbarassing this part ?
3. rear wheel power or engine horse power figure of a dyno ?
4. rate ur driving skills poor to good out of 0 to 10 ( lol this will be interesting also
5. what track did u ran at ?Hot day or Cold day air temp please ?
6. what tyres and differential ratios ?
7. elapsed time and mile per hour u pulled down the quarter mile ???
8. 60 foot mark ? ( sorry late entry )


answeers to questions ;

1. 2004 BA FPV_GTp all standard factory equipment no mods, 5.4L Quad Cam 32 valves V8 , Btr 4sp automatic , Btr diff LSD 3.46:1 ratio

2. FPV_GTp (3/4 tank of fuel and all my CD's + ME ( 125 kgs ) :oops: :oops: vehicle mass kerb weight 1825 kgs this reading is of the factory catalog ( not a measured weight by me ) www.fvp.com.au

3. factory power rated 290kwatts @ 5500rpm / torque 520Nm @ 4500 will dyno the car this week and see what it reads on my dyno first time ( the bug is back ) ;) :wink: :wink:

4. very rusty LOL ;) 7 out of 10 :oops:

5. nice cold day and night ( best conditions for drag racing 22nd/4/2006 heathcote Park raceway

6. factory rims/tyres, automatic Btr 4 speed , final drive ratio 3.46:1

7. out of a total of 7 runs for the night best elapsed time was 14.26 seconds @ 101.69 mph

8. 2.33 seconds

9. track condition wasn't preped up at all ( excuses excuses :wink: :wink: :wink: )


was a interesting night hope we have a few more meets like this again

would like to thank the guys from this forum that orginized the drag meet great job guys

2.3 for the 60's about right for an AUI Ghia remeber the IRS is grippier in the launch. The ET and TS line up pretty well with what I am running so they look fine to me. Not too sure about the weight though seems too light. I would bet it would weigh closer to the 1650kg mine does on WSID weighbridge lane 1 scrutineering bay

2. duno, probs bout 1750 all up
3. 150 rwkw
4. 6/10 better than halfway.. but really not all tha flash.
5. kwinana, coolish nite.
6. 255 wide at street pressure, 4.11 diff ratio. t56 box too.
7. 15.028 at 148kmh
8. 2.1 60'

clutch pedal was shagged so i couldnt change gears fast.. im expecting a tenth or two better next time im down there..

thats not a bad time at all, next time dump most of the fuel, you'd be surprised what the difference it can make.
